The conference is the landmark policy and networking event for wave and tidal energy in Scotland’s renewable energy calendar. Each year, industry, local and national government, regulators and academia come together to set new ambitions for the sector and debate the actions required to underpin the industry’s continued growth.
Returning to Inverness, for a fourth year, and with an expected 200 or more delegates and 40 exhibitors, this Conference is set to be bigger than ever.
This year, OWET will host its Ocean Renewable Energy Conference in Portland, Oregon on September 26 & 27. This seventh annual conference is one of the oldest and most respected ocean energy conferences in the United States. The conference has a regional focus that, by virtue of Oregon’s position as one of the best places in the world for ocean energy, attracts leading experts from all sectors and geographies to attend each year.
Join community leaders, developers, utilities, state and federal regulators and guests from around the world to explore the many accomplishments of the past year and what can be done to accelerate the pace of development in Oregon, nationally and internationally.

The International Conference on Ocean Energy is the global marine energy event focused on the industrial development of renewable marine energy. Held every two years, the goal of the conference and exhibition is to share recent experiences from research and demonstration efforts. It aims to accelerate development by stimulating collaboration networks between companies and research and development centres. It also specifically targets engagement of the experience of operators in related marine and power industry sectors.
Eileen Linklater, EMECs Client Relationship and Marketing Manager is speaking at the event providing an update on the learning gained from testing 11 marine energy converters in Orkney. Full conference programme now available.
EMEC will also have a pod in the Scottish Development International area.
