Andrew Mill


An experienced CEO with over 30 years of leading organisations involved in technology development and innovation primarily in the energy industry. He was previously CEO of NaREC (National Renewable Energy Centre) in the UK and on the Board of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. Andrew has served on several government advisory boards and has held numerous directorships in SMEs and large corporate organisations. He is a graduate Electrical Engineer and has long been associated with renewable energy technologies and energy systems.

An MBA and FCA investment manager, Sheryl has over 30 years’ experience in finance and technology with a particular emphasis in venture capital and commercialising technology companies. She was GP of US/UK venture firm Cross Atlantic Capital Partners where she, amongst other investments, seeded an incubator and worked with Scottish universities to commercialise technology innovations. Sheryl has sat on several boards of SMEs, investment committees and public sector advisory boards including the BEIS Energy Entrepreneur’s Fund. She is currently MD of Monterey Global Partners UK, a private equity group with a fund focused on investing in renewable energy and clean technologies.

Ron Chapman

Ron is a Civil Engineer and is currently the Chair of the Water Research Centre, based near Swindon, Wiltshire. Ron has had a distinguished career within the energy industry having held a number of senior posts within the Scottish Power and National Grid Groups and is currently a member of the Gas Network Innovation Competition Expert Panel. He has strong connections to the Caithness area.

A Chartered accountant and civil engineering graduate, Caroline has worked for nearly 40 years as an accountant in professional practice, specialising early on in her career in due diligence and corporate finance. After many years of acting as reporting accountant and corporate finance adviser for a wide range of complex businesses, she headed up Deloitte’s UK and Swiss risk and quality function for its advisory corporate finance businesses, prior to retiring in 2018. Since then, Caroline has taken on trustee and treasurer roles for five local Orkney charities. Caroline has a strong interest in the marine sector, stemming from studying hydraulics in her civil engineering degree and from a life long love of sailing.
