EMEC is the world’s leading demonstration facility for testing wave and tidal energy technologies in the sea. Based in Orkney, the centre is also working on R&D projects looking at green hydrogen, floating wind and the decarbonisation of maritime and aviation sectors.

Administration Officer (Maternity cover)

Salary:  £27,179 – £29,542 | Type: Fixed term post to cover maternity leave
Location: Orkney | Hours: Full-time, however part-time applications welcomed.

We are looking for an Administration Officer to support business functions across EMEC by providing key administrative services, including reception cover, administrative support and accurate record keeping.

As Administration Officer for EMEC, you will provide a safe working and professional environment, providing a range of administrative support services across the company, including travel bookings, reception service, visit organisation and document control, ensuring adherence to relevant policies and processes at all times.

You will ensure that records are kept accurately with regular updates and maintenance, whilst assisting with the development and functionality of necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient administrative processes within EMEC.

You will have a good all-round education, be literate with IT packages including MS Office software and have a good understanding of office systems and procedures. You will have strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise your work to meet deadlines.

Requirements:
  • A good all-round education. A qualification in administration or business would be advantageous, but is not essential.
  • Strong communication, and customer service skills and experience.
  • An interest in renewables would be an advantage.
