Orkney International Science Festival

The annual marine renewables update at the Orkney International Science Festival will take place this Friday, 5^th September, in the Orkney Arts Theatre, at 8.30pm.

The event – ‘Wave and tide: the year ahead’ – will provide an update on the work taking place at EMEC and throughout the marine renewables sector in Orkney. The programme will include talks on the following subjects:

• Welcome and introduction: Eileen Linklater, EMEC
• Orkney vessel project: Ian Johnstone, Aquatera
• Technology update: Joe Thompson, Pelamis Wave Power
• EMEC research and monitoring: Jenny Norris, EMEC
• Resource assessment: Adele Lidderdale, EMEC
• Wildlife observations: Caitlin Long, EMEC
• Acoustic monitoring: Michael Butler, EMEC
