Salary: £37,426 – £51,403 (dependent on experience and qualification) | Type: Permanent post

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager or Assistant Technical Project Manager with an engineering or technical background, who can support EMEC in pioneering the energy transition and a clean energy future. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring or, well-established Project Manager, with an enthusiasm for renewables, energy systems, infrastructure and growth projects.
The Technical Project Manager’s role is to lead projects across EMEC’s diverse portfolio, including floating offshore wind, wave, tidal and integrated energy systems. You will lead or support with the leading of projects with emphasis on strategic infrastructure and growth, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, whilst supporting the ongoing development of the Strategic Projects Team.
The Technical Project Manager will lead and manage technical site development activities, from feasibility and engineering design, through technical implementation, commissioning and handover.
You will take ownership of grid connection upgrades, including substation consenting, design and build, as the lead contact for EMEC’s key stakeholders in this area. You will ensure the scope of work, contract, budget, resources and schedule are aligned and supervise the project as it progresses. This will involve technical input to HAZID/HAZOPS, making sure they are managed and evidenced appropriately, contributing to site safety best practice.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) in Engineering, Marine Renewables or a related discipline.
- Strong communication & influencing skills, with solid project management abilities, strong stakeholder management and a commitment to safety.
- Experience in renewables, energy systems, infrastructure and growth projects.
- Some travel is expected with the role, alongside participation in conferences.
- Ideally, 3 years or more experience working in the energy sector.
