Standards News

The development of standards for the marine renewable energy industry took another important step forward in early November. Over 50 delegates representing various stakeholders from the UK and several European countries met at the Teacher’s Building in Glasgow on the 6th of November.

Working groups discussed the following 6 standards:

• Wave Performance Testing
• Environmental Impact
• Project Development
• Design Basis
• Wave Resource Assessment
• Manufacture and Factory Testing

Introductory presentations were made by Clare Lavelle (ScottishPower Renewables), Ian Richardson (British Standards BSI), and Winsome Grigor (The Environment Council).
