News this week

Managing Director Neil Kermode visited Pelamis Wave Power in Leith and was shown the next PELAMIS machine due to arrive in Orkney which is presently under construction.

EMEC was pleased to welcome visitors from Skill Development Scotland to discuss the developing needs of the Marine and Tidal sector. Stephanie Young, Ian Carse, Joyce Slater and Doreen Rendall were able to see the wave test site at Billia Croo where the works to prepare for the arrival of Aquamarine, OPT & EoN are underway.

Matthew Finn, Chris Casely & Roy Temple of EMEC successfully undertook a test deployment of the acoustic monitoring equipment designed and built by SAMS of Oban. The boat services were provided by SULA Diving using their newly coded Delta RIB working in Scapa Flow and also at the wave test site west of Orkney. The photo shows Dan Wise from SULA Diving, Matthew and Roy on the Delta RIB.
