News this week

This week has been busy with visits by Duncan Ayling and Oliver Wragg of BWEA, who managed to see Orkney at it’s best in the summer sun, in addition to seeing our Wave and Tidal Test site and a quick trip up to Burgar hill. In addition our Commercial Director Richard Morris held interesting talks with experts from SAIC in the USA and the utility company PG&E who visited the Wave test site at Bilia Croo with a view to knowledge sharing possibilities. A group of SDI employees visited EMEC to understand better what we do and how we do it – all who left Kirkwall to cycle to EMEC offices in Stromness made it safe and sound.

Developer progress is still high with OpenHydro, TGL (Tidal) and Aquamarine (Wave) enjoying excellent conditions for the testing and installation of their devices.
