News this week

EMEC are proudly sponsoring training jackets for Stromness Primary Junior football players, and we were delighted to see everyone in their tops today at the school. Coach Dave Jessiman has been working hard to put the youngsters through training, so hopefully we’ll see some football stars of the future emerging from the group.

Client and Marketing Manager Eileen Linklater travelled to Inverness this week to visit the 1/9 scale AWS III wave device currently undergoing trials in Loch Ness, and gave a presentation to the Royal Town Planning Institute Highland Chapter meeting.

Commercial Director Richard Morris attended the 3rd International Wave Energy Conference in London this week, where he also took part in a panel discussion on developing the Scottish wave energy supply chain.

Neil Kermode, EMEC’s Managing Director spoke at the “Marine Renewable Energy in Scotland” event in Edinburgh this week, then headed on to Guernsey as part of a Scottish delegation to provide a seminar on marine renewables for Guernsey.

Finally, a special thank you to the Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership Scheme who organised a walking tour around Stromness for EMEC staff. The tour took in some of the most famous and interesting stories of the town of Stromness, culminating in a visit to the Ness Battery. For more information on the scheme and the 48 projects being undertaken around Scapa Flow see the Partnership website.
