News this week

We’ve had a busy week for visitors again – including Dr Craig Stevens from NIWA who gave an informative and interesting talk on marine renewable energy in New Zealand. We also had Mike Scott from the magazine New Energy Finance – watch out for his article!

The European Commission are running an art competition (www.managenergy.net). As a result of this Edwina gave a talk to Primary 7 at Stromness Primary School, about EMEC’s work. We hope this will result in cartoon characters being produced based on wave and tidal energy devices to be put forward for the Europe wide competition. We will publish the winning entries on the web site in due course. If any other Orkney primary schools wish a similar talk, please get in touch with Edwina Cook at EMEC.
