News this week

The bi-monthly EMEC Board meeting was held on the island of Eday this month. They met in the island’s school and also visited the Heritage Centre which will be opened later this year (see Orkney Today http://www.orkneytoday.co.uk/news_item.asp?newsItem=2125 for information on the Eday Development Trust). The Board also visited the substation at Caldale which will also be opened later this year – watch this space! The photo shows the Board members enjoying their boat trip to the Tidal Test Site.

In preparation for the imminent opening of the Tidal Test Site, the operations team have been working on the island of Eday this week.
