News this week

Professor Martin Oldfield and his wife from the Department of Engineering Science at Oxford University visited EMEC this week. A visit to Billia Croo has been deemed unwise in the current Foot & Mouth restriction period, but he had an enlightening visit to the offices to discuss their tidal turbine concept.

EMEC will be part of the OREF stand in the County Show at Bignold Park this coming Saturday August 11th, as will many other local businesses involved in the renewable field.

Next week EMEC are hosting a training course presented by ETA who are submarine cable specialists. The course entitled ‘Introduction to HV Power Cable Systems for Offshore Renewables’ will be attended by EMEC staff and developers.

Also next week, Osiris Projects Ltd will be undertaking survey work at the Wave Test Site at Billia Croo.
