Two members of EMEC staff will be at the EWTEC conference in Porto next week. Eloi Droniou is presenting a paper with an EMEC update on resource description and wave induced velocities in a tidal flow. Jennifer Norris will be presenting on EMEC’s environmental monitoring activities.

Last week’s Science Festival in Orkney saw a good turnout at the Pickaquoy Centre on Saturday 1 September. EMEC had a stand in the RSPB’s ‘Big Picture’ display in the arena and Jennifer Norris and Edwina Cook gave a presentation on EMEC’s current work in the New Phoenix cinema.

Operations staff have been busy again in Eday as the Tidal Test Site gets closer to handover.

The ‘Multrasalvor’ has arrived in Kirkwall harbour for exploratory work for a developer in the Fall of Warness.
