News this week

The Standards meeting took place on 6th November at the Teachers Building in Glasgow. A successful and invigorating meeting took place – further details to follow.

Four members of EMEC staff have been continuing with training on Autocad at Orkney College.

The weather has been spectacular this week with 10 metre waves recorded at the Wave Test Site.

Edwina Cook returned from the bilateral workshop to share best practice and identify opportunities for collaboration in marine energy organised by the British High Commission in Ottawa. A very interesting and collaborative event which involved government, developers, academics, and testing facilities on both sides of the Atlantic. Outcomes are due to be defined and will hopefully lead to more shared best practice. See picture of the attendees photographed outside the National Research Council’s Canadian Hydraulic Centre within Ottawa.
