Site investigation works have been ongoing this week by a developer at the Wave Test Site at Billia Croo.

The Eday substation broadband was activated this week which will allow transmission of data to the data centre in Stromness.

Prof Ian Boyd and Gordon Hastie from The Sea Mammal Research Unit (SMRU) were at EMEC this week to review various projects. They had a very useful visit to the Tidal Test Site and also to the island of Eday to meet with EMEC’s wildlife observation officer – see picture of wildlife observations in action in Eday.

John Wood, an independent technical consultant, was at EMEC’s facilities this week advising on hard wired installation of data gathering devices.

EMEC has recently arranged a series of extremely beneficial and positive meetings with all regulators, the latest of which took place this week.

Jennifer Norris, Research Manager, will be attending the kick-off meeting of EQUIMAR in Edinburgh next week.
