Two developers continue their testing programmes in the Fall of Warness this week.

We were pleased to welcome four representatives of the Chinese Government to EMEC this week, based at the Chinese Embassy in London. They had productive presentations at EMEC, ICIT and met with representatives of HIE and OIC. Pictured are Ms Fan Jiang, Minister Counsellor; Mr Lingjiang Xu, First Secretary; Mr Qingjun Xu, First Secretary; Mr Jie Tong, Third Secretary. Mike Cwalinski, Vice President, East Region, Scottish Development International based in Boston, visited Billia Croo and EMEC’s offices also this week, as did four members of Xodus Aurora Environmental Consultants staff from the Stromness and Aberdeen offices.

Mike Waters of the Intellectual Asset Centre was in Orkney again this week and gave EMEC another mornings time on an internal audit.

Jennifer Norris, Research Manager is going to the Nautical Offshore Renewables Energy Liason Group meeting in London next week. The NOREL Group, which meets three times a year, is chaired by BERR with a DFT Secretariat (Shipping Policy) and provides a forum for government, industry and NGOs to discuss matters of mutual interest related to navigation safety.
