EMEC was delighted to host John Robertson from The Crown Estate and Rob Saunders of the Technology Strategy Board recently. Accompanied by Neil Kermode, Jenny Norris and Matthew Finn, they had a very busy day visiting the Fall of Warness and Billia Croo where they witnessed various different tidal and wave energy devices in situ or being installed.

E.ON’s Pelamis P2 machine returned to Billia Croo on Friday for further testing. Aquamarine Power are also continuing the installation process for their Oyster 2 deployment nearer shore.

On television, Neil Kermode will be appearing on BBC Alba’s news programme An Là this week as part of a series of reports on the current situation of renewable energy in Scotland, and the role it plays within the Scottish economy. An Là is broadcast at 8pm Monday-Friday.
