Longbore are continuing with their drilling work at Billia Croo on behalf of Aquamarine Power Ltd.

OPT have been up in Orkney visiting EMEC’s offices and continuing preparation work ready for installation in 2009.

OpenHydro are back on site, continuing with the next phase of their testing programme.

Ib Salomon a Danish journalist working for a magazine called Illustreret Videnska (Science Illustrated) who is working on an article about energy from the sea visited EMEC this week.

Simon Willis, a BBC Newsnight Scotland journalist has been in Orkney this week filming EMEC related activities for both the wave and tidal test sites. The item is due to be broadcast next week. Watch this space!

DHI were present in EMEC’s offices this week (see photo) in the form of Henrik Kofoed-Hansen from Denmark. He presented his company’s latest work on the numerical model of Orkney see Research: Site Wide Projects for further information.

The latest Standards meeting took place on Wednesday September 3rd in Edinburgh. This 100% turn out meeting related to the Environmental Standard – more news to follow later.
