New live webcam

EMEC have set up a new live Stromness webcam to coincide with the Tall Ships visit this weekend.

The camera is in the EMEC office at the Old Academy in Stromness which gives an excellent elevated view across the bay.

Eileen Linklater, EMEC’s Client and Marketing Manager said “we are extremely lucky to have such a spectacular view from our office windows.”

“We have often spoken about getting a webcam up and running, and the Tall Ships arriving seemed like too good an opportunity to miss.”

“The technical team at EMEC have done a great job in setting it up using their communications expertise in remotely managing the EMEC test sites at Billia Croo and Eday where we currently use video cameras for monitoring.”

The webcam can be viewed via the following link:

(please note computers may need to download an add-on from AXIS when prompted to view the webcam)
