CS Sovereign open day

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) are holding an open day on board the Cable Ship Sovereign which has been at anchor off Kirkwall for the last week. The ship has been laying new cables for EMEC and tours are being arranged before it goes out for the last piece of work. Tours will take place tomorrow (Wednesday 29 September) every half hour from 2.00pm until 6:30pm (depending on numbers). If you would like to come then be at the bottom of the ship’s gang plank opposite the ferry terminal at Hatston (on the hour or half hour). The tour will take about 30 minutes and no booking is required.
