Blog: Marine renewables update at Orkney Science Festival

The annual marine renewables update at the Orkney International Science Festival will take place this Friday, 5th September, in the Orkney Arts Theatre, at 8.30pm.

The event – ‘Wave and tide: the year ahead’ – will provide an update on the work taking place at EMEC and throughout the marine renewables sector in Orkney. The programme will include talks on the following subjects:

  • Welcome and introduction: Eileen Linklater, EMEC
  • Orkney vessel project: Ian Johnstone, Aquatera
  • Technology update: Joe Thompson, Pelamis Wave Power
  • EMEC research and monitoring: Jenny Norris, EMEC
  • Resource assessment: Adele Lidderdale, EMEC
  • Wildlife observations: Caitlin Long, EMEC
  • Acoustic monitoring: Michael Butler, EMEC

Opportunities for Q&A with our panellists will be available throughout the night, so please come along to find out more about the world-leading work that is taking place on your doorstep.
