Day 2 | 28 January | Lessons Learned and future priorities, a test centre perspective
Rob Flynn will join this session to discuss the sector lessons learnt from EMEC’s experience as operating the world’s first and leading test centre of it’s kind in Orkney. The panel will also discuss what we as a sector should be focussing on in the 2020′s to ensure the UK remains at the forefront of marine energy.
Day 2 | 28 January | Alternative routes to deliver ocean energy | 11.00 – 12.15pm
Within this session Elaine Buck will present on the various alternative routes to delivering low carbon energy which are currently underway in Orkney. Including virtual energy systmes via the ReFLEX Orkney project; green hydrogen generation and deploying underwater data centres.
Day 3 | 29 January | Project showcase – tidal stream and tidal range | 13.15 – 14.30pm
From low velocity currents, array scale zones attracting global leaders, community off-grid solutions and future plans for tidal range, the sector is stimulating peripheral economies and providing innovative supply chain diversification and early mover advantage in a growing global market. Here from our client, Orbital Marine Power, on their deployment plans for the new Orbital o2 device due to be tested in Orkney later this year.
