The European Utility Week is the platform to meet top-level European energy professionals, form new relationships and drive new collaborative projects forward. This year it will be held on the 12 -14th November 2019 in Paris.

Day 1 | 12 Nov | 1635 – 16.50 | What’s hot in storage? | Energy Revolution | Theatre 2

Oliver Wragg will be presenting within the Energy Revolution hub session on the ReFLEX (Responsive Flexibility) Orkney project, which will demonstrate a first-of-its-kind Virtual Energy System (VES) interlinking local electricity, transport, and heat networks into one controllable, overarching system. Finfd out more on how the the project aims to create a ‘smart energy island’, demonstrating the energy system of the future, which will reduce and eventually eliminate the need for fossil fuels.

Day 3 | 14 Nov | 1045 – 1100 | Hybrid Plants and Clean Energy Hubs | Distributed Generations | Theatre 10

As part of POWERGEN Europe, Oliver will be giving a presentation on ‘ReFLEX | How Orkney is building flexibility into a renewables dominated energy system’. Orkney currently generates 120% of its energy demand through renewables sources, and Oliver will speak about how this can be built into a flexible energy system for the islands.
