News this week

Visits this week include students from Sanday School. These included craft & design, art & design, and technical studies students in S3 and S4. These students pass the tidal test site facility at the Fall of Warness regularly and it was good to inform them of the activities taking place there.

We also had a visit from two US Senate Energy and Natural Resources advisors, Jonathan Epstein and Kathryn Clay who braved the weather and the tides and had an exhilarating trip to the tidal test site.

We were happy to receive the Orkney Islands Council Development Committee this morning. They were given a presentation by our Managing Director, Neil Kermode.

Subject to weather, we hope to be hosting a visit from The Scottish Assoication for Marine Science (SAMS) next week. They will be here conducting acoustic baseline measurements in the Fall of Warness. We look forward to their visit and also that of – Christina Huertas-Olivares from the Wave Energy Centre in Portugal who will be in EMEC’s offices consulting with our Research Manager, Jennifer Norris.
