News this week

The weather has been interesting this week, and produced some magnificent waves again! Analysis of the past year’s wave heights at Billia Croo has identified maximum wave height of 12m.

One of the wave rider buoys from Billia Croo has begun its epic journey to Datawell in the Netherlands for recalibration and service.

Edwina Cook our Business Development Officer will be visiting Papdale Primary School in Kirkwall on Monday morning to talk to the primary 7s about EMEC’s work. This will complement their project this term on renewable energy.

Sadly, we have to say au revoir to Eloi Droniou our Hydrodynamicist. He is leaving us to further his career in renewable energy. We wish him good luck and happiness in the future and assure him that he will be sadly missed.
