News this week

EMEC Staff will be at All-Energy 2009 in Aberdeen next week. We will be displaying on stand O2 in the Orkney area, so please come and say hello. Our new Commercial Director, Richard Morris and Operations Director, Stuart Baird will be present, therefore this will be an excellent opportunity to meet them in person.

The photograph shows our Technical Director, John Griffiths at the BWEA Conference in Bath at the end of April. On the table in front of him are the Standards for the Marine Renewable Industry that EMEC have facilitated and coordinated. These will be available at All-Energy so do come and get your copies whilst still available.

Neil Kermode, our Managing Director is currently in New Zealand, on an SDI sponsored inward mission, presenting EMEC’s activities.

Visitors this week to EMEC included Councillor Donald Macdonald, Argyll and Bute Council.

The Tidal Site is busy this week with activity by OpenHydro and Tidal Generation Ltd and the Wave Site is equally busy with the upgrading of EMEC’s infastructure. Aquamarine Power Ltd are gearing up for deployment at the end of this month.
