EMEC acts as an industry sponsor and supervisor for a range of PhDs.
Our PhDs span technical and social sciences, and can cover wave and tidal energy, green hydrogen and wider energy system development.
Industry pathways for PhDs
There are various pathways to getting a PhD including:
Energy Technology Partnership: funded by the Scottish Government.

IDCORE: an EPSRC funded doctoral training centre.
- Academic partners: The University of Edinburgh, University of Exeter, Strathclyde University, and the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS).
