Vacancy: Orkney Renewables Marketing Officer

Orkney Renewables Marketing Officer

£18,849 – £20,943 plus contributory pension 

We are recruiting for an Orkney Renewables Marketing Officer to develop and deliver an Orkney renewables marketing plan to promote the progress being made and challenges that the islands face in pursuit of a net zero future.

You will manage and update the EMEC website, social media accounts and associated online platforms,  coordinate Orkney renewables engagement activities including conferences, events, media engagement, sponsorship and awards applications, as well as managing and hosting visits to Orkney. In addition, you will develop Orkney renewables digital and print resources including leaflets, exhibition materials, presentations and a photo / film library.

Educated to HND or degree level in a marketing or related subject, you will have strong marketing and branding skills, good public relations, excellent communication styles in written or verbal form and be articulate and self-motivated, with the ability to work as part of a larger team or to your own initiative.

Experience in public speaking and website design, and knowledge of renewable energy would be advantageous to the applicant.

Based in Orkney and co-funded by Orkney Islands Council, this post is for a period of 12 months initially. It must be the applicant’s first graduate level job and have commenced within two years of graduation.
