EMEC is the world’s leading demonstration facility for testing wave and tidal energy technologies in the sea. Based in Orkney, the centre is also working on R&D projects looking at green hydrogen, floating wind and the decarbonisation of maritime and aviation sectors.

Assistant Project Manager

Salary: £34,918 – £42,859 plus contributory pension (placement on this scale depends on experience) | Type: Permanent post
Location: Orkney | Hours: Full and part-time applications welcomed

Join EMEC as an Assistant Project Manager gaining experience across EMEC’s project portfolio of wave and tidal energy, offshore wind, hydrogen, and energy systems projects, whilst working towards Project Manager qualifications.

In this role, you will manage projects safely, ensuring high quality outputs, whilst striving to reduce the time, cost and risk of demonstrating low carbon technologies.

You will play an active role in the continual development of the Project & Technical Team, supporting the management of the project lifecycle and liaising with relevant stakeholders to deliver work packages. The role will involve the coordination of resources, risk management, communications and reporting to funders.

Our ideal candidate has a broad educational background with experience in a project management focused environment. You should possess strong communication and decision-making skills. Knowledge of the maritime environment would be beneficial.

The role may involve some domestic and international travel for meetings.
