Vacancy: Senior Electrical & Performance Test Engineer

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) is the world’s leading test facility for wave and tidal energy converters, having supported more real-sea deployments than at any other site in the world.

Senior Electrical & Performance Test Engineer

£34,236 – £41,844 plus contributory pension

As a grid-connected test facility, maintaining our electrical infrastructure is key. We are looking for a Senior Electrical & Performance Test Engineer to ensure that EMEC’s electrical systems meet client’s requirements and are operated to relevant standards in a safe and efficient manner. You will work closely with clients, participate in technology design reviews and deliver power performance assessments of wave and tidal energy technologies. You will manage the operation of EMEC’s electrical systems, ensuring availability of HV electrical connections and a range of electrical measurement equipment.

Educated to degree level in a technical or electrical subject, you will have at least five years post-graduate experience in renewables, electricity supply, process, offshore oil and gas or a similar industry.

Based in Orkney, this is a permanent full-time post.
