Vacancy: Performance Test Engineer

Orkney is leading the world in the development of marine renewable energy and we have an exciting opportunity that can place you right at the heart of the industry.

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) is the world’s leading test facility for wave and tidal energy converters, having supported more real-sea deployments than at any other site in the world.

Performance Test Engineer

£29,250 – £35,750 plus contributory pension

We are looking for a Performance Test Engineer to deliver EMEC’s marine energy testing and performance assessment services into collaborative R&D projects. You will be required to develop and maintain test software and equipment, analyse and interpret test results, and prepare technical reports for clients. You will also provide technical input into the development of testing and certification schemes for the sector.

Educated to degree level in a relevant technical or scientific subject, you will have experience of working effectively within a project focussed environment, with well-developed critical, numerical and analytical skills.

Whilst the preference is for the post holder to be based in Orkney, consideration will be given to other locations within the UK. This full-time post is for a fixed term of 2 years.
