EMEC is the world’s leading test facility for wave and tidal energy converters, and is driving the development of a green hydrogen economy.

Hydrogen Engineer

£42,848 – £50,000 plus contributory pension

We are looking for a Hydrogen Engineer to support the design, development, operation and continual improvement of hydrogen production and fuelling infrastructure at both customer and company bases.

Educated to degree level in chemical, process, industrial or mechanical engineering, the Hydrogen Engineer will develop and maintain a detailed understanding of EMEC’s plant and equipment. They will act as a subject matter expert for hydrogen applications generation, compression and storage, and assist with process design safety studies and the development of plant compliance documentation.

The Hydrogen Engineer will have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a process / chemical plant environment, or experience working with hydrogen and / or fuel cells.

This is a full-time, permanent post. Working arrangements are flexible, however we would require the candidate to spend a minimum of 1 week per month in the EMEC office and on site in Orkney.
