Vacancy: Hydrogen Development Officer

EMEC is the world’s leading facility for testing wave and tidal energy technologies in the sea. To date, more marine energy devices have been tested at EMEC in Orkney than at any other site in the world.

We continue to grow and diversify, and we’re excited to have been awarded €11 million of European INTERREG NWE funding to progress the Integrating Tidal energy into the European Grid (ITEG) project.

Led by EMEC, ITEG brings together partners from the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands to develop an integrated solution for generating clean predictable energy.

Hydrogen Development Officer

£22,172 – £24,635 plus contributory pension

We are looking for a Hydrogen Development Officer to support the development and delivery of EMEC’s Hydrogen strategy. You will work in partnership with EMEC clients and other external stakeholders to gather market intelligence, identify funding or commercial opportunities, attend meetings and contribute to business development proposals.

Educated to degree level in marketing, business or related technical subject, you will have excellent communication skills with the ability to problem solve and anticipate issues in advance, providing solutions and recommendations to Senior Management.

This post is based in Orkney for a fixed term to 31 December 2020 initially and, whilst we are seeking someone to work on a full-time basis, we would consider applicants who wish to work part-time.
