Vacancy: Electrical Engineer

Orkney is leading the world in the development of marine renewable energy and we have two exciting opportunities that can place you right at the heart of the industry.

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) is the world’s leading test facility for wave and tidal energy converters, having supported more real-sea deployments than at any other site in the world.

Electrical Engineer

£26,556 – £32,458 plus contributory pension

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide first line electrical support and assistance of EMEC’s HV and LV systems including client’s electrical connections and acquisition & reporting of electrical performance data. You will support the provision of EMEC’s testing infrastructure, carrying out maintenance on EMEC’s facilities and equipment. You will also assist with the management of electrical safety and maintaining availability of EMEC’s data acquisition systems and the integration of new equipment.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in an electrical or electronic subject, you will have at least three years’ experience working in the electrical industry, with familiarity of HV electrical operations.

Based in Orkney, this is a permanent full-time post.
