Standards - Wave Measurement
EMEC published a draft Standard for Performance Testing of Wave Energy Conversion Systems in Open Sea in 2004 and this now needs revision in the light of experience of gaining accreditation with UKAS. The purpose of this standard is to provide a uniform methodology that will ensure consistency and accuracy in the measurement and analysis of power performance of wave energy conversion systems (WECS). It provides detailed methods for:
- measurement
- analysis
- handling uncertainties
- reporting
The standard provides developers with:
- independently verifiable procedures
- accuracy and consistency
- replicability of results
