Press release: Interreg FORESEA shortlisted for EUSEW award
EU funded project FORESEA has been shortlisted for the ‘Innovation Award’ at the EU Sustainable Energy Citizens’ Awards 2019.

FORESEA (Funding Ocean Renewable Energy through Strategic European Action) is an €11m Interreg North-West Europe project, helping bring marine energy technologies to market by providing free access to world leading test centres supporting testing in real sea conditions.
FORESEA has enabled the testing and demonstration of ocean energy devices, sub systems and components which is crucial in helping the sector prove the technology and reach full commercial roll-out.
To date FORESEA has attracted €30 million of investment to 19 offshore technologies within wave, tidal, floating offshore wind, and under water data servers.
As a result of FORESEA, ocean energy developers and test centres are convincing investors of the commercial readiness of their technologies. It is helping stimulate the growth of supply chains with more ocean energy devices being deployed as well as the creation of new jobs and the emergence of new centres of expertise.
Marine energy will play a key part in achieving Europe’s sustainable energy future and Europe is at the forefront of this global industry.
The EU Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding innovation in energy efficiency and renewables. Twelve finalists have been chosen from a shortlist of the year’s most successful projects for clean, secure and efficient energy.
The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony during EU Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels on 18 June 2019.
