EMEC wins first place in R&D award
On Thursday 27th September, EMEC was announced as the Winner of the Commitment to Research and Development Award, sponsored by ITI Energy, at the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Northern Star Business Awards, 2007, held in the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
Although EMEC is first and foremost an operational facility, its role in the development of the wave and tidal energy industries offers opportunities for research into unknown issues, including establishing consistent methods for monitoring devices for key potential impacts.
The Commitment to R&D Award offered stiff competition, with companies like Total and Brinker also in the running. EMEC is delighted to have won the award, which it sees as recognition of the importance of the role that EMEC can play in research and monitoring.
