Blog: EMEC attending OceanEnergy Europe 2013 (29-30 Oct, Edinburgh)

A team from EMEC will be attending the European Ocean Energy Association’s Ocean Energy Europe 2013 conference taking place in Edinburgh on 29th & 30th October 2013.  Sponsored by Scottish Development International (SDI), this is the first time the conference has been held outside Brussels and will provide a platform for the industry, politicians and senior decision-makers from member states and the European Commission to network, do business and develop strategic plans for accelerating development across the ocean energy sector.

EMEC’s new commercial director Oliver Wragg will be attending alongside EMEC’s client relationship and marketing manager Eileen Linklater, research and project coordinator Matthew Finn, and external liaison Max Carcas.

Conference programme – key sessions:

29th October, 0920 – 1005:     EU Support for Technological Advancement
Max Carcas will join representatives from the European Commission is his role as SET Plan Group Coordinator.

29th October, 1330 – 1505:     Pioneering projects II: Grid, Infrastructure & Skills
Oliver Wragg will speak alongside Richard Yemm of Pelamis Wave Power and Martin McAdam of Aquamarine Power.

Many other EMEC clients will be speaking across the event including: Alstom Ocean, Andritz Hydro Hammerfest, Atlantis Resources, Bluewater, ScottishPower Renewables, and Voith Hydro.
