Speaking at All-Energy 2015

Day 2: Thursday 7th May

  • Real sea testing: powering marine energy R&D: Neil is speaking in Wave & Tidal Session 5 at 1330 alongside Professor Stephen Salter of the University of Edinburgh, and Katie Grace of the University of Strathclyde.
  • The Great Debate: A question of scale – BIG v small: Neil is chairing The Great Debate at 1530 which will see Professor Peter Fraenkel propose ‘the BIG solution’, and Cameron Johnston of tidal turbine developer Nautricity propose ‘the small solution’ alongside Gareth Davies of Aquatera. This session will take the form of a classic debate. You will be asked to vote on the way into the conference hall. Our two proposers will then put forward their position by means of presentations; our seconders will give short supporting speeches. We want you to come prepared with plenty of questions to fire at them to tease out interesting answers. The four participants will then be asked to put forward closing remarks and a second vote will be taken. Which way will it go? You need to be there to find out!

The full conference programme is still under development. The latest version can be accessed online: All-Energy 2015 conference programme

EMEC-ETV

Accredited to ISO 17020, EMEC became a Verification Body for Environmental Technology Verification (EMEC-ETV) in 2014. The ETV scheme helps innovative technologies reach the market by verifying the specific performance parameters of a given technology, and can help small and medium-sized businesses attract investment, increase market share and differentiate from competitors. EMEC can verify the performance of technologies which present an environmental benefit in the wave, tidal and wind energy sectors, as well as technologies that focus on water treatment & monitoring, and materials, waste & resources.

  • Attract investment
  • Increase market share
  • Differentiate from your competitors

EMEC will be announcing some exciting news regarding EMEC-ETV at All-Energy so watch this space!
