SHFCA annual conference 2020

Hydrogen is a fast evolving area in Scotland, and SHFCA 2020 promises to be one of the highlights of the year.

Conference theme: Scaling up Hydrogen and Fuel Cells for Scotland’s 2032 Targets 

The four sessions of SHFCA2020 will cover policy, hydrogen supply, infrastructure, and hydrogen demand:

Day 1 | 14 Oct | 13:30-17:00 BST includes the opening plenary session which will highlight policy leadership and ambitions for hydrogen and fuel cells, and explore importance of cross-sector and international partnership working. The opening plenary is followed by the session on hydrogen supply which will include updates on the key projects for production of green and blue hydrogen.

Day 2 | 15 Oct | 09:30-13:00 BST  continues with the theme of building a hydrogen economy for Scotland. The first session is about the enabling hydrogen infrastructure which will connect the sources of hydrogen supply with the growing hydrogen demand. This is followed by the final session of the conference which will address hydrogen demand, and how we can build up the demand at sufficient scale and with attractive business models.

EMEC’s Managing Director, Neil Kermode will be speaking on during the opening plenary session on day 1.

This session is chaired by Bruce Farquhar of Anderson Strathern
- Paul Wheelhouse MSP: Scottish Government Minister for Energy, Connectivity, & Islands
- Neil Kermode: Managing Director at the European Marine Energy Centre. RESponible Energy Islands – Leading by Example
- Paul Henderson: Head of Hydrogen Supply at BEIS, UK Government
The three speakers will then be joined by Stuart Hawksworth, Health & Safety Executive, for the plenary session panel discussion.
